Can you explain how to wire this valve?
The DEELAT On/Off Motorized Ball Valves are one of the easiest valves to wire. The actuator will come with 3 wires; Blue, Brown, and Black. Blue is negative, Brown is positive, and Black controls the opening and closing of the valve. The blue and brown wire must be receiving power at all times. When the black wire receives positive power it will open the valve and when power is removed it closes the valve. These valves are usually controlled by a switch or controller meaning the black wire must be connected to the switch or controller because its the wire sending a signal to the actuator to open and close.
Do you have valves that are normally open in their default position, but close when the power is off?
Yes. On/ Off, 3-Point and Proportional wiring will work for your application. The default position of the valve is set to open. If you wish, you can set the default position of the valve to closed. Each actuator has wiring included that will allow you to open and close the valve at will. See our actuator PDF on the D1779255 product page for more information.

What is the life expectancy for these actuators and valves?
The Motorized Ball Valves have a lifetime of 50,000 cycles at 100% open and closing.
Can the valve be set to closed when the power is off?
Yes. The valve can be set to open or close as default at time of installation. DEELAT motorized ball valves has wiring types On/ Off, 3-Point and Proportional will allow you to control the on or off position. Please see the PDF on the D1779255 product page for more information.
I'm assuming that 3-point wiring means it needs power to open or close. If power is cut, does the valve stay in the current position?
You are correct, the motorized ball valve with 3-point wiring will need to be powered to open and close. If power is cut the valve will in fact stay in its current position just like you said.
Will this handle continuous use over 8 hours. Is this normally closed?
The D1151118 motorized ball valve and all others are designed to operate constantly with an electric source. The valve's default position is open.

How much does this valve draw from the battery? I see that it takes 16s to operate, but it how much current (i.e. amps) does it draw over that time? To put it another way, how many Ah (amp-hours) are needed to open or close the value? Thanks.
The valve does not draw any power from a battery, this actuator must be hard wired to a 12V DC power source. The actuator has an open close rate of 2 seconds, not 16. The reason for the rate of 2 seconds is because it's not a steady running time due to the DC motor inside. When opening the valve using the opening control wire, there is a current of about 55mA, and when the valve is entirely opened, there remains a 10mA current flow. When closing the valve, the current is at about 55MA as well, but when entirely closed, there remains a current at the range 0 to 10mA.
Are these valves rated for natural gas?
This stainless steel ball valve cannot be used with natural gas. These stainless steel ball valves are made to have some sort of liquid run through them such as water or coolant. We can certainly work with you to source a valve that can handle natural gas.
What is the minimum operating temperature, are these actuators rated for -40°C operation?
The operating temperature of the actual actuator, which is the motor that turns the ball valve, is -5°C to 60°C. The stainless steel ball valve can withstand -40°C temperatures.
What is the flow rate through a 1" valve? Does it restrict flow more than a full port ball valve?
The flow rate is 16.1 KVs. And it is reduce bore , so flow rate will be smaller than full port type.
Is this unit suitable for potable water?
The D1156040 stainless steel valve can be used for potable water.
Can I get this in stainless? What is temperature rated at?
You can purchase this D1151118 motorized ball valve with a stainless steel valve body. The SKU you should purchase if you want a stainless steel valve body is D1156043. The temperature range is from 35F - 194F.
Is this ok for use with potable water?

Can this be used for diesel fuel? Does it shut off after actuating from closed to open, even when 12 volts is still there?
This motorized ball valve cannot be used with diesel fuel. The actuator does shut off after actuating and will remain open until switched/powered to close.
Do you make anything in stainless that operates at 12 volt dc and is class 1 div 2 rated (hazardous location)
DEELAT has motorized ball valves in stainless steel, however, they are not recommended to use in a Class 1 Div 2 area. Even though, they can handle oil, the valve itself could possibly leak. Our manufacturer would need more much more details of the environment the motorized ball valve will be in to make sure its suitable.
is this valve designed for continues duty cycles
Yes. Deelat motorized ball valves have a lifespan or cycle life of at least 50,000 cycles.
I am trying to connect an automatic shutoff valve due to loss of power in basement. This is needed due to having pumps for bathroom and laundry area and don't want water available if pumps don't have power. Are these valves good for that application or would something else fit better?
Our motorized ball valves are used for this application all the time. The simplest approach is to use any motorized ball valve with an on/off wiring and set the default valve position to closed before installation. When the power is shut off, the motorized ball valve will automatically default to the closed position. Also, please be aware that the actuator has an IP54 rating, so be careful about getting the actuator wet, as it is not fully waterproof.
How long is the power cord?
Hello, Joe. It is not really a power core; it's 3 to 5 wires, depending on your wiring type.
What type of threads does this valve have? I'm need to attach a 1/4" tubing and I'm looking for adaptors
The threading for each motorized ball valve, including D1156099, is indicated under the threading filters on each product page, and is either NPT or BSP.
can this be used for residential natural gas?
Unfortunately our motorized ball valves cannot be used for natural gas. The seals are not made to withhold gas within the valve so there will be gas leaks which is very dangerous.
Could you explain the wiring?
The DEELAT D1774304 valves have blue, black and brown wires. The blue wire is the neutral, the brown wire is the positive, and the black wire is the control cable. The black wire controls the opening and closing of the valves. The blue wire must always be connected to negative power and the brown wire always connected to positive power. To open the valve power must be supplied to black cable and to close it power musty be removed from the black cable. In other words the switch or controller you are using must be able to give power to the black wire when you desire to open the valve and cut power to the black wire when you want to close it. If power is completely lost due to a blackout the valve will remain in the current position.
if you apply power the valve opens and if you stop power to unit does it shut off?
The motorized ball valve default position is set to open or close before installation. If the ball valve default position is set to close, then when the power is lost to the motorized ball valve, it will close.
Are there any control systems, that use water sensors to isolate the water system in the event of a leak, which work with Deelat electrically actuated ball valves? In the event of a power failure do the valves stay in their last position or do they fail-safe open or close?
In the event of power failure, the valve will go to the default position. The default position is set by the installer before installation and can be changed any time to open or close.
Can this valve be used for potable water?
DEELAT brass motorized ball valves are lead free, but cannot be used for potable water. However, all of our stainless steel valves can be used for potable water applications.
Are viton seals an option for the 1156043?
The viton seals can certainly be applied on any of our motorized ball valves. D1165060 and other viton o rings can be found by searching for our o ring category in the search bar.
Hi, What material are the seals made of? We would potentially use your motorized ball valves in an electrical discharge machining (EDM) application and oil would be transferred through the valve. Viton or Buna-N seals would work best. Also, do you offer any samples? Thank you.
The seals that are inside the valve body of our Motorized ball valves are made out of EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomers) which is a high density synthetic rubber that is extremely versatile with an ability to withstand 0 - 95 degrees Celsius. Please contact our customer support team at 1-877-956-5685 regarding samples by phone.
What water pressure can the valves handle?
The water pressure this valve body can withstand is PN25-PN40 (Min to Max).
What is the diameter of the valve port? Is it a full port?
This valve is full port, so it will have a diameter is 1/2".
What speed does the valve acute from open to close? how many seconds?
The D1156058 motorized ball valve actuates open and closed in 12 seconds under 60 Hz and 16 seconds under 50 Hz
Do you carry a 1 inch safe drinking water compliant motorized ball valve with auto return?
This D1151150 motorized ball valve is not suitable for drinking water. We highly recommend you only use stainless steel ball valves for potable water. D1779261 would be the equivalent of D1151150 in stainless steel.
What is required for wiring these valves to a Johnson Controls A421 digital thermostat for flow control of glycol to a brewing fermenter ?
Johnson Controls A421 series has 10 sub models. The motorized ball valves with the most advanced wiring configuration are our proportional wiring motrized ball valves. Can you please provide your exact model #? You can either call us or email us at your earliest convenience.
I am looking for a three way valve for a potiable water system that could be switched off and it would be a drain valve for the system. I see the valves that will probably work just not sure of the control to activate. I would like a 110ac set up
D1156094 will work for your application. There are a few ways these ball valves can be controlled. Please contact us at your earliest convenience at 1-877-956-5685 so we can discuss this matter further.
Is this safe to use (sanitary) in a homebrewing environment for moving hot wort?
DEELAT motorized ball valves have been used for a few different brewing applications. The most common are for chilling fermenters with a glycol mixture. Our motorized ball valves can be used to transfer hot wort from the mash tun to the boil kettle which usually are temps below 194°F but are not recommended to be used the wort that is boiling. The max temperature these valves can withstand are 194°F. If you run boiling wort through the valve it will quickly diminish the gasket and seals in the valve causing leaks.
Will the 24v actuator work with Diesel fuel? Which would you recommend for reserve fuel that is transferred before use? Off - on transfer (30min) -off
This D1151123 motorized ball valve will not work with diesel fuels because of the seal that it uses. Before we can recommend another motorized ball valve that would work better for your application we would need to know the pressure rating in the line. We recommend you look at our solenoid valves.
can you fit a ball valve in 316 ss and to 1000 psi?
We do offer the valve body for this motorized ball valve in a 316SS version however it will not be able to withstand 1000 PSI. Max PSI it can withstand is 145 PSI. We do not offer any type of valve body that can hold 1000 PSI.
Can this valve mounted in any position or has to be upright only?
We use these in our craft brewery on glycol chiller lines. Some are mounted horizontal and some are mounted at a 30 degree angle. Originally had them mounted vertical but didn’t like our system configuration that way however, we saw no problems with any of the mount orientations.
I NEED 2000 PSI RATED
DEELAT does not offer any motorized ball valve that can withstand that amount of pressure.
will this valve work for steam at 13 psi?
You can use DEELAT valves with steam, however, we do not recommend to use them with steam. The temperature of steam reaches right above the recommended temperature range of the valve which is 35°F-194°F (2°C-90°C). The admissible pressure is 2.0MPa (290 psi) and the closing pressure is 1400KPa 203 PSI.
I'm looking for a 1" three way solenoid valve that allows water to flow through freely until electrified flows through other port.
We have 1” three way solenoid valves. D1151285 is just one example.
On the Motorized electric ball actuator, 110V On/Off: There are 2 ways to wire this unit per the tech specs, First way shows the valve being wired with a switch between the Brown and Black wires< I assume for on or off position. What is the function of the other schematic?
The spec sheet provides information for both our on/off and 3-point type actuators. When using the on/off wiring configuration, you will connect your switch to the black wire for control. Please refer to the on/off wiring diagram for this model, D1775554.
How many watts does this consume at 24 VDC?
The power consumption of D1774328 at 24V DC is 3 watts.
Are your Brass or Stainless Steel valves certified for use in Residential Drinking Water Systems?
Our brass motorized ball valves cannot be used for drinking or potable water. However, all of our stainless steel motorized ball valves are certified and are okay for use with drinking and/or potable water.
What is the Amperage draw for this?
The amperage draw for this D1774304 valve is less than or equal to 60 milliamps.
Can a stainless steel valve be threaded to a copper fitting without creating corrosion between the two metals?
Connecting copper and stainless steel in a plumbing setup is not recommended as corrosion will occur.
How quickly can the valve change positions? Documentation seems to indicate it takes 16 seconds, but that seems like a lot of time. I'm looking for something that can actuate fully in less than 1 second.
The D1151277 valve can change positions between 6 and 15 seconds, depending on the load of the torque. The lower the torque (NM), the faster the valve will close. We do not currently have any valves that actuate fully within 1 second.
Can this valve be used for low pressure propane?
While our valves are ideal for a range of plumbing and vehicle heating and cooling applications, unfortunately we cannot recommend using one for low pressure propane because it would be too dangerous in the event of leakage.
I am looking at your "DEELAT ® Motorized Electric Ball Valve - 2-Way DC - 3/4", 2.5N.m, Stainless Steel, 3V - 3-Point" item and I believe it is what I need. My application is for a "vacation" house in which I go into the basement and manually open a ball valve when we are in the house, or close the valve to prevent the water system from being pressurized while I am away. I would like to operate this valve with a switch instead if having to crawl into an area that is difficult to reach. I do not want the valve to require constant power either in the open or closed position. I want to flip a switch to open it and to close it. Is this the item that will satisfy my needs?
The D1156053 valve will meet your needs, as the three-point wiring can be connected to a switch in the way you describe.
What are the materials that are in contact with the fluid path? (Stainless steel, etc.)?
The materials in contact with the fluid path are stainless steel, PTFE and EPDM.
Do you offer a fail safe option for this valve?
The valve has a failsafe feature. As soon as the actuator is opened or closed completely, power is cut automatically.
Is this item feature a manual override?
Many of DEELAT's motorized ball valves have manual override switches; however, this is not one of them. If you have a specific application that requires a motorized ball valve with these specs and a manual override switch, call our sales team.
Do you offer 316L Stainless Steel and orings in Viton or Kalrez?
DEELAT carries SS304 stainless steel valves with double o-rings on both the ball and the stem. We do not have SS316L stainless steel valves or o-rings in Viton or Kalrez.
Is this item suitable for outside use?
We do not recommend using the valve outdoors. This motorized ball valve has a gap between the actuator and the base. Therefore, rain will seep in and cause problems.
Do you offer 316L Stainless Steel and orings in Viton or Kalrez?
We have many Viton o-rings for sale in the Plumbing section of our website. We have 304 Stainless Steel valves but not 316L Stainless Steel valves.
The heading shows 1/2", the description shows 3/4", which is it at what price. I would need a 3/4" ball valve. Confirm the price for a 3/4" please. Is it OK to wire this to a normal 110VAC wall switch ?
The valve is 3/4" size and the listed price is correct. You can wire the valve to a 110VAC wall switch.
Does the motor shut off when fully open and fully closed?
The valve's motor runs continuously to ensure the position of the valve, whether fully open or fully closed.
As this is AC power, is the valve open or closed before power is applied?
The valve arrives in the open position. If the power stops during usage, the valve remains in the same position. If the power to the control wire is cut, then the valve will close.
I am looking for a 3 way motorized water valve to switch between water source 1 or water source 2. If it has a shut off that is ok, Something that come with a switch and power source would be the best.
DEELAT three-way valves do not have shut off, but the two-way valves do. Also, the valves come wired so that they can be connected to whatever power source you are using for your application.
DEELAT ® Motorized Ball Valve (Electric) - 2-Way AC - 1/2", 3.5N.m, Stainless Steel, 110 V - On/Off - how long can the ball valve be left in the on position? What is the warranty? What are the temperature maximum exposure limits? Is the unit water proof ?
The ball valve will maintain its position until you change the wire connection, usually via a switch. The warranty is 180 days. The maximum ambient temperature is 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) and the maximum medium temperature is 248 degrees F (120 degrees C). The waterproof rating for the unit is IP 55.
Can this unit get wet while in use from splashing?
The valve has an IP54 waterproof rating, which means it is protected from water spray and offers limited protection from water ingress.
Can this be configured to normally open/ powered closed?
This valve is configured differently -- when the power is shut off, the valve stays in the position it is in.
DEELAT ® Motorized Ball Valve (Electric) - 3-Way AC - 1/2", 3.5N.m, Stainless Steel, 110V - ON/OFF, WHAT IS THE THREAD SPECIFICATION?

Do you have this valve with a 1 or .5 second run time?
Sorry, we do not have a motorized ball valve with a 1 or .5 second run time. We do have a large variety of other run times, starting at 12 seconds and going upwards of 60 seconds.
Hi. For this Motorized Ball Valve (Electric) - 2-Way AC - 1/2", 3.5N.m, Stainless Steel, 24 V - On/Off is this a full-port valve?
Yes, this motorized electric ball valve is a full-port valve.
My bathroom sink is far from the water heater and water is wasted waiting for the hot water to get to the faucet. How will DEELAT help save water?
The motorized ball valve cannot solve this problem, but installing a water heater closer to the sink would save water. Deelat's electric water heaters are energy efficient and would be a convenient choice.
How do I turn the electric motor powered shut off valves remotely? Do I need a relay type panel? Will that relay panel allow me to also shut the water off with a timer at night and also have two other on/off switches, one for each of my two tenants at the location?
This motorized ball valve does not have any form of remote control. It does have an on/off actuator, however.
Can these valves be used for potable water?
This motorized ball valve cannot be used for potable water. However, a stainless steel motorized ball valve would work with potable water, although Deelat does not sell those.
Are your valves NSF61 (drinking water) certified?
Yes, this motorized ball valve is CE certified.
Is this valve suitable for power on to open and power off to close in a 2 wire system?
Yes, this motorized ball valve is suitable for that function.
I am looking for a 1.25" 3 port SS ball valve with 120 VAC actuator but see that you only go up to 1" (D1156094). My flow is 18-20 GPM and at up to 170 psi. What is the pressure loss across the valve at those flows?
Because this motorised ball valve is made of stainless steel, it has a limited amount of pressure, though we are unsure of the exact pressure loss value. But this valve is still full port.
Can this product fail open?
No, this motorized ball valve cannot fail open.
I am looking for a replacement motor for your valves, the metal body is still good but I burnt out the electrical. Can I just order an electrical/motor hardware?
Sorry, our factory cannot replace just the motor for this motorized ball valve. You will need to replace the entire apparatus.
I am looking for a 3/4 inch water valve that is 24 volt powered... it is to be normally closed until powered up... and closes when power is cut to valve...

The maximum psi of D1156085 is 290psi. DEELAT does not offer any motorized ball valve that can withstand that amount of pressure.
Does this 3 way valve D1156091 shut off one of the 3 way ports ? So if i have a feed coming in one, it switches back and forth from one to another?
Yes, the feed for D1156091 comes in one port, and the actuator can switch it one the way out.
If i have a water feed coming in one end of D1156091, does the motorized valve turn on or off one of the two exit ports ?
Yes, that is correct for D1156091.
Hello, can you please confirm the total time taken to open this D1151096 valve? Also, is this valve appropriate for compressed air up to 150psi?
The on/off time for D1151096 is 12 seconds. Its maximum pressure is 290psi.
Is there anything (signal, wiring) to indicate when a valve is not fully closed or fully opening?
Our SKU D1156055 does not have any indicators or signal to let you know that the valve is not fully open or fully closed. We do have other valves that have feedback wiring and other valves that come with a shut-off dial that will indicate the position of the valve. For example, D1779255 has a shut of the dial which can be used as a physical indicator of the position of the valve.
Is the ball valve, for SKU #D1779279, normally open or normally closed?
Hi Michelle! Thank you for your question. The motorized ball valve default position is open and will remain so unless default position is switched to closed..
Do you supply an electric actuated ball valve that is "electric to open and spring to close"?
What valve would you recommend for the auto draw-off system for maple syrup? It needs to withstand a temperature of at least 219°F, it needs to be stainless, and it needs to be food grade. Also with 110V, if possible, with a size of 3/4 or 1''.
