General Description
Non-sparking Putty Knife - Aluminum-Bronze - Dimensions 3” x 4”

Function
The spackle knife blade presses against a surface to remove or manipulate material. The non-sparking quality ensures that when the tool makes contact with its target, the friction of the collision will not cause sparks.
Applications
The non-sparking putty knife is used to scrape surfaces or spread material such as putty or plaster. This spackle knife is particularly beneficial in environments that involve oil and gas works, such as pipeline construction and chemical plants.

Can you tell me if the putty knives are beryllium free?
These non-sparking tools are beryllium free. With beryllium tools, there is a risk of chronic beryllium disease, which primarily affects the lungs and can be transferred to other parts of the body through the bloodstream, leading to slow deterioration. However, there are benefits to beryllium tools, as they provide protection against fires and explosions in hazardous environments, and have a strength and hardness not found in aluminum, brass and bronze tools. They work well for many specialized applications in precision devices and instruments. It is important to take care whether tools with or without beryllium will be best for your situation.
