can I used it to suck air out of a room?
Hello Alan, thank you for your question. Yes you can use this ventilator to extract air out of a room. You would just need to make sure to look at the airflow arrow and make sure you install the ducting accordingly. To use this ventilaotr ans an extractor the ventilator must be placed in the room/area you would like to extract air from and have the ducting installed on the end that the airflow is being directed to and make sure the other end of the duct is wherever you would like the extracted air moved to.

This product was recommended to us to use under our house to move the air. We are having water drainage issues causing dampness and mildew/mold smells. Can we safely use it for this purpose under our house? And how long can it safely run without being turned off? Thanks!
Hello Greg, thank you for your question. This ventilator can be run safely for 1000 hours straight without being turned off. However, the environment you are specifying does not seem to be ideal. The ventilator can work in max temps of 104F and 90% humidity. You will need to make sure this environment will not reach these max parameters.
Can this product be used to remove smoke from a wood fire in a flu?
Hello Damien, thank you for your question. Yes you can certainly use our portable exhaust fan to extract smoke from a wood fire. As long as the exhaust fan is not in the fire directly or in an environment more than 80°C than you should have no problem.
I already bought a 12 inch portable ventilator. Can you please tell me if I can use it as an exhaust ventilator. I ask because I do lacquer finishes on kitchen cabinets and there are a lot of fumes. I need to be able to move the fumes out of the kitchen area, is this ventilator a right choice?
Hello Anibal, thank you for your question. This ventilator is an excellent ventilator and can certainly be used as an exhaust ventilator to remove air from a certain area. However, because you work with hazardous flammable fumes we suggest to purchase an Explosion Proof Ventilator. We suggest purchasing D1143683 because its designed to be in hazardous areas with flammable gas. Using a ventilator that is not explosion proof in an area with flammable fumes can be extremely dangerous because a spark from the ventilator can potentially cause an explosion, an explosion proof ventilator eliminates that danger.
Hi there how much ducting comes with the fan?
Hello Adrien, thank you for your question. Ducting is not included with any of our fans or ventilators. Ducting is sold separately, we offer all different types of ducting insulated, explosion proof, high heat, etc, If you would like to purchase ducting with your fan please give our customer support team a call and we will make sure to match this portable exhaust fan with the correct duct work.

What Diameter ducting should I buy to correct fit on the 12" Portable Exhaust fan?
Hello Joel, thank you for your question. The ideal sized flexible ducts to use with out 12" portable exhaust fan would be our 12" and 13" flexible ducts. The 12" would fit snugly to the rim of the exhaust fan were as the 13" will slide right over it with no issue but will need to be tightened to the rim of the exhaust fan with either the strap provided with the duct or with duct clamps (sold separately).
Hi. I'm contractor for renovations. I need a ventilation for présure négatif. What you think its good for me?

If I plan to do some work that requires removing a section of an old drywall ceiling in a living room to access a pipe and want to vent all the resulting dust through a nearby window, can this fan be placed in a window to suck out the dust as I create it? Is it powerful enough?
Hi Rob. This depends on the size of the living room. The air flow rate for D1143669 is only 1500 square feet per minute; we would suggest D1143670 (11 13/16") or D1143671 (13 25/32") for higher ventilation efficiency.
Would this unit be suitable to extract plaster sanding dust, and do you have the ducting that attaches to this unit (length)?
Hi Paul, thanks for your question. This exhaust fan can only extract plaster sanding dust of small sizes. We recommend using a vacuum cleaner instead, as it would work better for your application. Please refer to SKU #D1144222 and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
Is there a fan curve for this product of volume versus static pressure?

Hi, I work in wood and bone.pendants in a small space and wonder if u have a portable extractor to suck the dust out as I’m working
Hello Bishop, thank you for your question. This portable ventilator is certainly capable of being used as an extractor, however, how efficiently it would remove dust is something we are not too sure about as that is not the intended use of the ventilator.
Can this fan be mounted vertically? So this fan is 12" so it takes a 12" ducting? BTW can the ducting be cut relatively easy?
To mount this portable ventilation fan vertically, you can buy a U-shaped frame that can adjust its angle. The frame will cost $9 if you contact our factory. Yes, the 12" fan takes 12" ducting. We can produce a duct of custom length if you are having difficulties cutting it yourself.
Will you differentiate 10" Air Blower Fan D1146609 and 10" Portable Exhaust Fan D1143665 relative to air flow direction? I noticed that the the handle/switch is not centered so maybe there's only one side you can attach an air duct. I want to attach the my air duct so I can direct where it blows air.
Hello Ricardo, thank you for your question. The ventilators are basically identical in all aspects to air flow. They can both be used as an air blower or for air extracting. The main and really only difference between the 2 is the voltage.
Can I use this for dust removal in a heavy duty dusty area? Really dusty.
Yes, you can use this portable ventilation fan for an extremely dusty area.
