Outdoor De-Icing Cable – 49 FT – 110 V - PVC
General Description
Outdoor De-Icing Cable – 49 FT – 110 V - PVC
The outdoor de-icing cable is 49 feet long and has a PVC coating. The cable has a voltage of 110 V along with a power of 150 W. Its resistance is 80.67 ohms.
Function
The outdoor de-icing cable heats up internally to raise the temperature of surrounding areas. An inner conductor produces the heat, which is surrounded by layers of PVC insulation and coating to ensure safe operation. One end of the cable plugs into an outlet, and the cable is flexible enough to be wrapped around piping and used on various types of roofs.
Applications
The outdoor de-icing cable is used in both commercial and residential settings for freeze protection, especially on roofs to avoid ice dams and snow buildup, around pipes to avoid bursting, and in gutters or downspouts to ensure proper drainage.

Would this be good to put in the soil to start my seeds
DEELAT deicing cables are not designed to be buried however they should work for your application. It can be used to frost and ice prevention of the surrounding soil.
can this be zip tied to the outside of 1 1/2 flexible Polyethylene sump pump hose? Due to a blockage in the piping I am running a temporary hose for my sump pump but it has been freezing. I would like to zip tie the heating cable to it to prevent the freezing. can it be wrapped on flixible polyproplene and if so would it have to be spiral wrapped or just layed against it. Thank you.
You can wrap the outdoor deicing cables to the sump pump hose using zip ties. We recommend to wrap it around in spiral pattern around the tube. Please email are customer support staff so we can forward you pictures to give you a better idea. Unfortunately we can not add photos to our Q&A section.

Hello! I am installing a 4" sump pump external discharge pipe (Pipe to be buried, but not below frost line) away from my house. I am wondering if I could feed this cable through the pipe and leave it on in the winter as freeze protection when my sump discharges.
You can use DEELAT de-icing cables for freeze protection during winter. Simply run the de-icing cable through the inside of the pipe or spiral it around the outside of the pipe.
Are these controlled by thermostat, and can I wire directly into my box?
The cables are not controlled by a thermostat. You plug it in and they will heat up automatically. They can be controlled by an on and off switch. These cables should only be operated when there is snowfall or ice build up.
If I wrap a pipe can the cable overlap?
DEELAT de-icing cables cannot overlap and should have some spacing in between each spiral down the pipe. We recommend you space each spiral on the pipe about 1" apart.
Can I use the cable on ice build up on the ground to create a run off path to deal with flooding?
You can use the DEELAT de-icing cable for that application.
